The big “S” word has infiltrated our society so much that it is now common place. Americans just don’t care about the “S” word anymore. The older generations grew up believing it was something bad, while the younger generation sees nothing wrong with it. This did not happen by accident. This was planned, and it is now taking root and it is destroying our society. Since you all know what the “S” word is, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it, “Socialism”. (Scared ya, didn’t I?)
What is Socialism? How does it affect America and the world? How is Socialism in America defined? Is Socialism dangerous? Is President Obama a Socialist? Is Capitalism really better than Socialism? These are probably a few of the questions that anyone who has ever heard of socialism has ever asked. Hopefully, my new series will help you answer some of these questions.
What is Socialism? Socialism is not an easy term to define because it constitutes a broad variety of beliefs. In Merriam-Webster’s dictionary there are three definitions. Simplified, Socialism can be defined as government control over the production and dissemination of goods. In an ideal socialistic society, The people work for the good of the people. An ideal socialistic society is based on “from each according to his ability, to each according to his deed.” Socialism’s goal is to right the wrongs of capitalism. Socialism wants to protect the poor, like the Irish immigrant of the 1860s who worked for a penny a day. Socialism wants to make a society where no one is poor. Socialism does not call the removal of all personal property for pleasurable use. It calls for the removal of personal property that is used for productive use, ie businesses. When there is no personal property being used for personal gain, then the worker is not crushed beneath the foot of the owner. No worker is mistreated.
Socialism sounds great. Socialism’s ideology appeals to many people, because it sounds good. Everyone wants a fair shot in life. No one wants to be used, mistreated, or undervalued; we all want to feel a sense of importance, and socialism does that for many people. This series I am going to write hopefully will inform you more about the workings of Socialism; specifically, its past and its future. You will be shocked to learn many things and just exactly how these things will affect. I am going to write some things that will seem crazy to you, but do the research, some things just are crazy. An informed and knowledgeable citizen is freedom’s best friend.
Change “deed” to “need”
It wasn’t a typo. “to each according to his need” is communism, although there really isn’t much difference between them
